Faith

I had a very important reminded today of what faith really is. It's not a feeling. It's not a hope. It's a strong conviction that God will do what He promises. When the way is stormy and rough but we do what He asks anyway, we show faith. Even when the odds are stacked against us or the way seems utterly impossible and foolish (especially to the world), we exhibit faith and please God by doing what He wants. Even in the ordinary, day-to-day tasks like working alongside someone that you can't stand or being happy when your plans fall through or not worrying about something that we can't control, we exhibit faith in God and His plans for our lives by our reactions to those circumstances.

What do you want to exhibit? Faith or faithlessness? Now, don't get me wrong. No human will ever have complete faith until he is in Glory. But for me, I want to strive to have complete faith in my God.

Mark 9:24
And straightway the father of the child cried out,
and said with tears,
Lord, I believe;
help thou mine unbelief.

Trust and Obey
When we walk with the Lord in the light of His Word,
What a glory He sheds on our way!
While we do His good will, He abides with us still,
And with all who will trust and obey.

Not a shadow can rise, not a cloud in the skies,
But His smile quickly drives it away.
Not a doubt or a fear, not a sigh or a tear
Can abide while we trust and obey.

Not a burden we bear, not a sorrow we share,
But our toil He doth richly repay;
Not a grief or a loss, not a frown or a cross,
But is blessed if we trust and obey.

But we never can prove the delights of His love
Until all on the altar we lay;
For the favor He shows, for the joy He bestows
Are for them who will trust and obey.

Then in fellowship sweet, we will sit at His feet.
Or we'll walk by His side in the way.
What He says we will do; where He sends we will go.
Never fear. Only trust and obey.

Trust and obey; for there's no other way
To be happy in Jesus but to trust and obey.
